CTET Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) syllabus and exam pattern is available for the candidates who are preparing for CTET exam. Candidates must prepare based on the exam pattern and syllabus of CTET, should get good score in the examination.

CTET Exam Pattern and Syllabus:

All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking. There will be two papers of CTET.
(i) Paper I will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Paper-I for I to V Class (Primary Teacher): Paper I consists of 150 multiple choice questions(MCQ,  each carries one mark  and total is of 150 marks. Duration of exam is Two-and-a-half hours.

(i) Child Development and Pedagogy- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Child Development (Primary School Child)- 15 Questions
b) Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs- 5 Questions
c) Learning and Pedagogy- 10 Questions

(ii) Language I (compulsory)- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Language Comprehension- 15 Questions
b) Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iii) Language II (compulsory)- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Comprehension- 15 Questions
b) Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iv) Mathematics- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Content- 15 Questions
b) Pedagogical issues- 15 Questions

(v) Environmental Studies- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Content- 15 Questions
b) Pedagogical Issues- 15 Questions

Paper-II for V to VIII Class ( Elementary Teacher): Paper II consists of 150 multiple choice questions(MCQ,  each carries one mark  and total is of 150 marks. Duration of exam is Two-and-a-half hours.

(i) Child Development & Pedagogy(compulsory)- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Child Development (Primary School Child)- 15 Questions
b) Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs- 5 Questions
c) Learning and Pedagogy- 10 Questions

(ii) Language I (compulsory)- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Language Comprehension- 15 Questions
b) Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iii) Language II (compulsory)- 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
a) Language Comprehension- 15 Questions
b) Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iv) Mathematics and Science- 60 MCQs- 60 Marks (for Mathematics and Science teacher)
a) Mathematics- 30 Questions
b) Pedagogical issues 10 Questions

(v) Social Studies/Social Science- 60 MCQs- 60 Marks (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher)
a) Content- 40 Questions
b) Pedagogical issues- 20 Questions
