GPAT – Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test

gpatGraduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is all India entrance exam for Bachelor of Pharmacy(B.Pharma) degree holders to seek admission into M.Pharm/ Ph.D course. GPAT exam is conducted by Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara on behalf of All India Council For Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi. Every year many B.Pharma degree holders appear for GPAT examination in order to do PG in Pharmacy stream.

  • B.Pharm degree holders(4 years after 10+2) from a AICTE recognized institute or candidates who are in the final year of B.Pharmacy course are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are in Final Year of B.Pharm/Completed B.Pharm degree after lateral entry into B.Pharm after D.Pharm are also eligible to appear.
  • Eligible candidates of any age can appear for the exam. As there is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT.

Some Colleges/ Institutes Specifying GPAT score is must for M.Pharmacy and Ph.D course admissions. GPAT qualified candidates will get the Fellowship/Scholarship while pursuing M.Pharma. Most of the Pharmaceutical companies are recruiting the candidates based on the GPAT score.

GPAT exam is computer based online examination. The exam consist of 125 multiple choice questions and duration of the exam is 180 minutes. For each correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer 1 mark is deducted.

The GPAT exam score will be valid for one year from the date of announcement of the result. All AICTE approved Institutes / Departments of Universities will accept GPAT score cards.
