JAMIIT Joint Admission Test (JAM) Exam Pattern: IIT-JAM entrance exam syllabus and test pattern for the aspirants. Candidates who are going to appear for the JAM exam, may check exam syllabus and prepare well. JAM exam will be conducted for the seven test papers namely, Biological Sciences(BL), Biotechnology(BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology(GG), Mathematics(MA), Mathematical Statistics(MS) and Physics(PH).

Scheme of the Examination: JAM exam for all the test papers will be computer based test(online). Duration of the examination will be 3 hours. The medium of all the test papers will be English only. There will be a total of 60 questions carrying 100 marks. The question paper consist of three sections namely A, B and C. All sections are compulsory. No marks will be given for unanswered questions. The question pattern of each section is clearly given below

Section-A: This section consist of  30 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ) carrying 1 or 2 marks each. Candidtaes have to choose only one correct answer. For all 1 mark and 2 marks questions, 1/3 mark and 2/3 mark will be deducted respectively for each wrong answer.

Section-B: This section contains a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) carrying two marks each. There may be one or more than one choice are correct out of the four given choices. In this section, there are no negative and no partial marking provisions.

Section-C: This section contains a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions carrying 1 or 2 marks each. No choices will be shown for these type of questions. Candidates have to enter the answer by using a virtual numeric keypad. There is no negative marking in this section.
