Joint Admission Test (JAM) is conducted by Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) and Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs). JAM is the entrance test for getting the admission in to the Integrated Ph.D Degree Programmes at IISc Bangalore and M.Sc (Two Years), Joint M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc-Ph.D Dual Degree, M.Sc-M.Tech, M.Sc-M.S(Research)/Ph.D Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at IITs. Every year in the February month JAM is conducted.
- All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC-NCL Category Candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off for SC/ST and PwD Category Candidates in the qualifying degree.
Main objective of JAM exam is consolidate Science as a career option for bright students across the country. Scope of JAM is Research & Development careers in frontier areas of basic sciences as well as inter-disciplinary areas of Science and Technology.
JAM exam for all the test papers will be conducted through online mode. JAM test of 60 questions carrying 100 marks. Exam is conducted in English only. Duration of the exam for 3 hours.
